CROWNS AND BRIDGES
Service Subtitle
Crowns completely cover a tooth to give considerable extra strength, they may be made in gold or porcelain bonded to an alloy of precious metals to give a natural look.
The latest zirconium crowns are metal free, but extremely strong and offer a translucency similar to normal dental enamel therefore giving a far superior appearance.
Bridges consist of two or more crowns linked together to replace missing teeth in a fixed, natural manner.
PREVENTATIVE DENTISTRY
For children and adults (fissure sealants and fluoride treatments).
Dental techniques are evolving everyday but preventative treatment is always a good idea when it comes to your children's teeth, to avoid more invasive treatment in the future.
• Fissure sealants are a coating, bonded to the back teeth which protects the biting surface so it's harder to for decay to attack. The treatment is painless, non invasive and is an effective solution against tooth decay.
• Fluoride is a safe mineral compound found naturally in water and is absorbed into the tooth enamel to make them more resistant to decay and fractures. It is extremely beneficial for children's developing teeth and will help maintain the teeth into adulthood.
We assess your teeth on an individual level and will recommend the treatments as necessary.
DENTAL HYGIENE
Tooth scaling, polishing and oral hygiene instruction.
Our aim is to reduce/ eliminate the causes of infection which can create the two main gum problems, Gingivitis and Periodontitis.
We do this by focusing on plaque control, dental staining and tartar removal. This creates a more hygienic environment which keeps the harmful bacteria to a minimum if followed with careful home care by the patient. The end result is a reduced risk of tooth loss, the need of restorative treatment, overall better health and fresher breath.
Scaling and tooth polishing is considered the basic treatment of periodontal diseases and may be the only treatment required to treat mild cases of periodontitis
ORTHODONTICS
Invisalign. (by referral)
Crooked teeth, overcrowding and improper bites can cause difficulty in cleaning as well as making the patient feel uncomfortable about their appearance.
Modern techniques have surpassed the traditional wire 'braces' and the latest Invisalign system consists of clear plastic aligners that are practically unnoticeable and far more comfortable. This system also has the added advantage of being able to be removed for regular teeth cleaning.
INLAYS, ONLAYS AND VENEERS
Here For You
Inlays are used on back teeth to replace large fillings where a more natural look is desired or in some instances gold is indicated, these replace the unwanted amalgam fillings. The inlays are made in a laboratory so a mould is taken before the final piece is bonded into the tooth.
Similar to inlays, onlays cover more of the tooth's surface and are used to replace larger fillings to produce a more aesthetic and harder surface. A combination of these procedures make the perfect way to improve your smile.
Veneers are fine porcelain covers that are bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth transforming a smile which may be suffering form crooked, stained or chipped teeth and not in need of crowns.
This is a relative simple procedure and often local anaesthetic is not necessary.
